Uniboard’s Moncure plant receives FSC certification

LAVAL, QUE — Engineered wood products manufacturer Uniboard announced that its Moncure, NC, plant has been issued a Chain of Custody Certificate Multi-Site (SW-COC 002726) by the Forest Stewardship Council.

“The certification of our Moncure plant continues to showcase Uniboard’s commitment to eco-friendly policies,” said Lise Plante, product manager for the Panel Business Unit. “Uniboard now has four plants FSC certified: our Val d’Or and Sayabec plants in Quebec, our Fostoria plant in Ohio and our Moncure plant in North Carolina. Our Mont-Laurier plant in Quebec will be FSC certified in late 2009.”

The Moncure plant also is certified under the Composite Panel Assn.’s Environmentally Preferable Product (EPP) Program and meets the requirements of California Air Resources Board Phase 1, while also offering products that are certified for CARB Phase 2.
