It has begun! Voting for Young Wood Pro is underway

Inspired by The Rocketeer, “The Recordteer” – from 32-year-old CJ Colace – was a finalist in last year's competition.

Entry is now closed for the annual Young Woodworking Professionals competition. But now the next phase begins: You get to vote on your favorite projects!

Young Wood Pro recognizes outstanding projects and the young wood pros that create them. The free competition is Woodworking Network's salute to woodworkers ages 18-35.

From now until January 22, head on over to Woodworking Network's Facebook page to vote. Cast your vote by simply "liking" the picture of the project you think is best.

1 like = 1 vote. Ten finalists will then be determined based on the number of likes, with our team of judges selecting the overall winner.

Due to the wide range of the submitted projects and their applications (i.e., functional, decorative - furniture, boat, artwork, etc.), judging consideration will be given to:
  • overall look/presentation of the project
  • the complexity of construction and design

The 2021 Young Woodworking Professionals contest winner will receive a $500 monetary award and will be featured on WoodworkingNetwork.com and in an upcoming issue of FDMC magazine.

This will be the sixth year Woodworking Network has recognized outstanding projects by #YoungWoodPros. Last year's contest was won by 31-year-old Andrew Morris for his beautiful walnut credenza.
