Besides health concerns brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, the next biggest worry is what it will do to the economy both long and short term. Economist Dr. Alan Beaulieu will address some of those questions in an exclusive live webinar.

Set for Thursday, April 23, at 1 p.m. CDT, the webinar will include a short 15-minute interview with Beaulieu conducted by Will Sampson, editor of FDMC magazine and Woodworking Network. Following the interview, attendees will be able to ask their own questions.

Dr. Beaulieu is president of ITR Economics, a research firm that has long been heralded for its economic reporting, particularly as it relates to the woodworking industry. Since 1990, Dr. Beaulieu has consulted across North America, Europe, and Asia, optimizing companies’ forecasts and planning to increase profits through his mastery of business-cycle trend analysis. He also serves as Senior Economic Advisor to numerous U.S. and international trade associations. Dr. Beaulieu is slated to be a keynote presenter at the Executive Briefing Conference in November.

Stay-at-home orders and confusing designations of “essential” businesses have disrupted the woodworking industry and in many cases paralyzed business. While some states are already talking about lifting those orders and re-opening businesses, the future is not clear. Dr. Beaulieu will addresses those concerns.
