LA PORTE, Ind. - Wood component giant Patrick Industries - number 67 on the latest FDMC 300 - will add a 60,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in La Porte, Indiana. The new plant will create 30 jobs.

Patrick received a tax incentive package from the city of La Porte to assist. 

“We are excited to be working with the City of La Porte on this project,” said Patrick Industries Senior VP Hugo Gonzalez. “Our goal is to build a long-lasting partnership with the community.

According to WhatsNewLaPorte, Patrick will pay workers $26 an hour. Hiring will begin this fall.

Patrick Industries has been seeing tremendous growth. The company has been on a takeover spree - acquiring more than 25 companies over the past few years. In May it acquired fellow RV component maker Alpha Systems.

Patrick is one of North America's largest manufacturers and distributors of component products and building products serving the recreational vehicle, marine, manufactured housing, residential housing, high-rise, hospitality, kitchen cabinet, office and household furniture, fixtures and commercial furnishings, and other industrial markets. Patrick's major manufactured products include decorative vinyl and paper laminated panels, countertops, fabricated aluminum products, wrapped profile mouldings, slide-out trim and fascia, cabinet doors and components, and hardwood furniture.

The company has more than 170 operations across 20 states, Canada, China, and the Netherlands - employing more than 9,500.
