Is resale the answer to supply chain woes? Chairish says yes

Chairish is an online marketplace for vintage furniture and design.

Online vintage furniture resale site Chairish says the answer to the woodworking industry's supply issues is resale.

"From foam and lumber shortages to inflation of shipping containers cost and inconsistent work schedules, every retail industry from holiday toys to appliances and the furniture industry have been hit hard with supply chain issues delaying deliveries up to a year," the company says.

“Before COVID, the furniture industry in particular already had a “long lead time” challenge, and purchases of newly made items routinely took 8-12 weeks to arrive. With the impact of COVID and the many associated complications, the supply chain and lead time problem is now exponentially worse. Resale home furnishings are the smarter, more sustainable choice because they are available locally and ready to ship right now.”

Resale avoids these issues says Chairish, as its items take just two weeks to get to customers. The company recently acquired Pamono, a European online marketplace for vintage furniture, making it among the largest pure-play sources of home furnishings.

More than 12,000 small businesses, artists, and makers are on the platform, which was named Newsweek's "Best Online Shop of 2021."
