COLUMBIA, S.C. – Queen Wood Products will invest $6 million to expand into a bigger facility in South Carolina.

Founded in 1998, Queen Wood Products is a family-owned business specializing in providing wood shavings for barn stalls.

The new location will allow the company to fulfill increased demand.

“Queen Wood Products is excited to announce its expansion to the old Mohawk Carpet facility in Ulmer, S.C," said company owner Skip Queen. "The move to Ulmer is just minutes down the road from our original location in Allendale, where we have enjoyed doing business since 1998."

The expansion will create 19 jobs and should be completed by the end of the year.

The Coordinating Council for Economic Development approved a $250,000 Rural Infrastructure Fund grant to the county to assist with costs related to the project.
