What's trending in kitchen & bath cabinets and accessories: View slideshow

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. - What are the hot trends for kitchen and bath cabinetry and countertops in 2016? According to a recent survey of design professionals, the overwhelming cabinet preference is for transitional style, with gray and neutrals the preferred color pallet, while granite continues to rule in the countertop market. These trends and more were revealed in the 2016 Design Trends Survey from the National Kitchen & Bath Association.

Lumber Liquidators' VP talks flooring design trends

LAS VEGAS –The popularity of Lumber Liquidators’ laminate and hardwood flooring continues to rebound, based on the large number of crowds gathered at the booth during the recent International Builders Show in Las Vegas. Driftwood and similar whitewashed colors garnered a lot of interest from attendees, as did distressed and rustic looks in both hardwood and laminate flooring, commented Jay Quickel, vice president of merchandising for the Toano, Virginia-based producer.

Rev-A-Shelf provides cabinet & closet components for injured veterans' homes

At KBIS 2016, Rev-A-Shelf announced its three-year national partnership with Homes for Our Troops, which builds specially adapted, mortgage-free homes for severely injured, post 9/11 veterans. The hardware and components manufacturer will provide the non-profit organization with kitchen cabinet and closet storage and organization accessories for veterans' homes.

Wellborn Cabinet moves to frameless cabinetry at KBIS 2016

LAS VEGAS -  At KBIS 2016, Wellborn Cabinet Inc. announced it will offer its first frameless line, with production set to begin the first quarter of 2017. Named Aspire Cabinetry,  the full access frameless line will be manufactured at the company's 1.5 million-square-foot facility in Ashland, Alabama.

LAS VEGAS - The National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) announced a sleek new visual brand today at KBIS which unifies all of the association’s key brands with an emphasis on “K” and “B.”It is the first change in NKBA visual branding in eight years and a big change in the association’s 53-year history.

Organization for wider drawers and above-appliance cabinetry

Rev-a-Shelf is showing its wider combination drawers and an above-appliance-cabinet pull-out at KBIS 2016 in Las Vegas. The drawers, for which patents are applied, are designed for 30-inch and 36-inch cabinets, and feature a movable upper cutlery tray that conceals a built-in knife organizer. Adjacent compartments provide ample storage space for large utensils, plastic bags, wraps and foils.
