Cabinet manufacturers reported overall cabinet sales were down 11.4% for September 2023 compared to the same month in 2022, but custom and semi-custom cabinet sales remained up year over year, according to the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association's September Trend of Business Report. 

The report found that September 2022 was $267,601 compared to September 2023 $237,017, which was down 11.4%. In terms of year-to-date sales, the overall percentage was approximately the same. 2022 year-to-date sales were $2,147,430 as compared to September 2023 when year-to-date was $2,148,344, which was about a zero change.

In terms of custom cabinetry, sales were up 9.9% from $539,925 in September versus $593,479 in September. Whereas, semi-custom sales went up from September 2022 year to date when it was $1,165,968 versus September 2023 when the sales were $1,213,941. Stock sales dropped however from September 2022 when it was $441,537 versus September 2023 when sales were $340,924.
