LEXINGTON, N.C. — Valen Drawers has been acquired by Cotton Bay Building Products, a holding company based in Lockport, New York. Details of the transaction were not released.
Founded over six decades ago, The Valen Group is a manufacturer of wood accessories, drawers, and doors, serving cabinet and closet builders. With operations in Lexington, North Carolina, Brugnera, Italy, and Surduc, Romania, the group employs a team of 200 employees.
Cotton Bay is also the owner of Lockport-based Candlelight Cabinetry. The Valen Group joins Candlelight Cabinetry, strengthening the Cotton Bay Building Products (CBBP) portfolio. Valen and Candlelight will continue to operate under their unique brand identities.
Andrew Olsen, Managing Partner of Cotton Bay Corp, expressed his excitement about the acquisition. “We are thrilled to welcome Valen to Cotton Bay, and look forward to stewarding and upholding the brand and legacy created by the Della Valentina family.”
The Valen Group manufactures wood accessories, drawers, and doors. Valen USA’s primary focus is doors and drawers, and Valen Italy’s primary focus is wood accessories and cabinetry components.
According to the company, the management team will stay intact, with Michael Welch as general manager of Valen USA. CBBP is searching for a new GM in Italy, as the previous owner was fulfilling that role.
In addition, Royal Oak Realty Trust in Rochester, New York, has acquired Valen Drawers' 111,309-square-foot manufacturing facility. ValenDrawers signed a 15-year absolute net lease at closing to continue production at the facility. Cotton Bay is the guarantor of the lease.
