The 2024 Closets/Wood Pro Expos will feature woodworking machinery, CAD/CAM software, hardware, decorative surfaces presented by a solid cast of manufacturers and distributors. 

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. – Advance discounted registration is open for the Closets Conference & Expo and Wood Pro Expo Illinois. The twin-bill event takes place April 17-19, 2024, at the Schaumburg Convention Center.

Closet and woodworking professionals alike can enjoy the biggest savings by registering to attend by Nov. 24. As an added incentive to register by Nov. 24, event organizers are offering an additional 15% discount on top of the early-bird rates to attend the full-day conference or two-day expo.

The Closets Conference & Expo (CCE) is the only national event dedicated to closets and home organization, open to all manufacturers, specifiers, designers, and other professionals in the industry. Fresh off a successful three-day run in West Palm Beach, Fla., this past April, the CCE will be held at the Schaumburg Convention Center for the first time since 2017. 

Wood Pro Expo, a regional marketplace for professional woodworkers, will be held in the Chicago-area for the first time. Modeled after the successful annual Wood Pro Expo Lancaster, Wood Pro Expo was most recently co-located with the Closets Expo in West Palm Beach this year and San Diego last year.

Full-day conference programs focus on trends and best practices
The full-day April 17 conference program will kick off with a keynote address by Daniel Eisenbarth, Results Coach and Business Results Trainer of Robbins Research International. Eisenbarth’s presentation, The Psychology of Business – The Edge of Successful Business Owners, will explore why some business owners are more successful than others.
 
The twin-track conference includes presentations curated for closet and woodworking professionals. The break-out session format allows Closet Conference attendees to sit in on Wood Pro Conference presentations and vice versa. 

Topics of the Closet Conference, co-sponsored by the Association of Closet and Storage Professionals, include:

  • How to Launch a Design Studio Through Collaboration, presented by Jenny O'Connor, Design Director, Bespoke Closets / Burke Architectural Millwork, and Lis Ritz, Designer, Inspired Closets Chicago
  • Emerging Trends: Accessories and Decorative Hardware, presented by Ariane Brabant, Business Development Manager, TAG Hardware, and Knikki Grantham, Creative Director, Keeler
  • AI's Role in the Future of Design, speaker TBA

Topics of the Wood Pro Conference, co-sponsored by the Cabinet Makers Association, include: 

  • Negotiating Your Contract, presented by Lois Snyder, Owner/President, Periwinklers, and Randy Niewind, Owner, Randy's Cabinets and Woodworks
  • Lean Strategies to Increase Profitability, presented by Gregory Paolini, Owner/Operator of Gregory Paolini Design LLC
  • Transitioning Your Business, presented by Ken Kumph, Owner of Premier Builders

The day of education will culminate with at tour to a local manufacturing facility and showroom.

The two-day expo, April 18-19, will feature woodworking machinery, CAD/CAM software, hardware, decorative surfaces presented by a solid cast of manufacturers and distributors. The expo allows attendees to see and experience new products that can help them grow their business first-hand.

About the venue
Schaumburg is conveniently located, just 30 miles from downtown Chicago and less than 20 miles from O’Hare International Airport. The area is rich in restaurants and nightlife destinations.

The Schaumburg Convention Center is a state-of-the-art facility that is well-suited for hosting large events. In addition, the convention center is connected to the Renaissance Hotel, reducing the daily commute to the event an elevator ride and short walk.

CCE and WPE each kick off with a separate full-day conference on April 17, co-sponsored by the Association of Closet and Storage Professionals and Cabinet Makers Association respectively. The two-day co-located expo, April 18-19, features woodworking machinery, supplies, and components. Additional educational programming is offered on each day of the expo.
