HUNTINGTON, NY - The Container Store, a retailer of organizing solutions, custom spaces, and in-home services, plans to open its eighth small-store format in Huntington Shopping Center in Huntington, New York. This is the company's 102nd retail location nationally and its sixth in New York State (the first small-store format in New York).
The store will feature a Custom Spaces Studio featuring custom closets, living and garage displays of its Elfa, Avera and Preston lines, and a design center. The Container Store has custom offerings from metal DIY to professionally installed wood-based systems. Customers will find a curated assortment of storage and organization solutions for every home area that pair with its Custom Spaces offering and discover unique products in categories like travel, pet care, and home fragrances. Along with the complimentary in-store design, services will include Custom Spaces in-home design consultations, professional installation, and in-home organization.
“The Container Store is excited to expand our reach in New York with our sixth location in the state,” said Jennifer Pape, Senior Vice President of Stores. “Our differentiated offering of custom spaces, complementary organizing solutions and in-home design services is a retail experience customers new to The Container Store have never had before, and we are pleased to bring this offering closer to existing customers in the area who have shopped our surrounding locations. We look forward to welcoming customers this weekend and furthering our purpose to transform lives through the power of organization.”
Board of Directors additions
Retail industry veteran Karen Stuckey and LL CEO Charles Tyson were elected to The Container Store's Board of Directors. They will fill vacancies left by Bob Jordan and Jon Sokoloff when their terms expired in August 2023.

Karen’s consumer-driven leadership and expertise in product development and sourcing, along with Charles’s deep knowledge of customer experience and home improvement services, will be invaluable to our team. We look forward to their support as we focus the business on its next phase of growth, capitalizing on an unparalleled offering of Custom Spaces, organizing solutions, and in-home services.”
