MONTREAL – Lecavalier Petrone, a sweet shop nestled in the heart of Pointe-Saint-Charles since 2015, underwent a total renovation aimed to enhance the customer experience while preserving the shop's unique character.

Architectural firm Dupont Blouin transformed the 1,800-square-foot gourmet confectionary, magnifying every detail without compromising the quality or efficiency of Lecavalier Petrone’s production.

The goal of the $100,000 re-do was to spotlight the delectable chocolates and cakes. Thus, the palette of colors, soft and refined, harmonizes seamlessly with carefully chosen materials: the speckled black porcelain mosaic evoking the softness of vanilla Chantilly, white cabinets, Corian solid surface countertops facilitating maintenance, and galvanized steel adding a subtle industrial touch.

Inside, delicate curves guide the gaze, creating a symbiosis between space and displayed products, while curtains delineate the public space from the necessary privacy for preparations. Strategically placed openings offer glimpses of the artisans at work, reinforcing the intimate connection between creator and audience.
