AMELIA ISLAND, Fla. - The Composite Panel Association has recognized Eddie McMillian as the 2023 Brock R. Landry Industry Leadership Award recipient. The Landry Award is given annually to an industry leader in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the composite panel industry.

The award was created to recognize CPA counsel Brock R. Landry upon retirement after more than 40 years of significant contributions in service to the North American composite panel industry. McMillian was selected by CPA members and the award presented during the Chairman’s Dinner at the association's annual spring meeting, held April 7-10 at Amelia Island, Florida. 2019 Landry award recipient Elliott Savage, Seemac Inc., made the presentation.

McMillian’s career in the industry spanned over 30 years with Williamette Industries before he retired in 2002. During that time, he was an instrumental presence in the association, including serving as the 1995 chairman of the CPA, known formerly as the National Particleboard Association. He also served on the board and executive committee for several years, advocating for the growth of MDF as a complementary product to particleboard. McMillian was an active proponent of including the Canadian industry in the association in 1997 and for the creation of an Associate membership category to further promote acceptance of industry products throughout the value chain.

He remains active in the industry, serving for more than 20 years on the boards of notable wood product companies.

McMillian joins Kelly Shotbolt (2017), Wade Mosby (2018), Elliott Savage (2019) Will Warburg (2021) and Norm Voss (2022) as distinguished Landry Award recipients selected by CPA.
