WPMA wood components group elects new board

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Wood Products Manufacturers Association elected new officers to its 2018 board of directors at the 88th annual meeting, held Sept. 19-21 in Providence, Rhode Island.

Doug Cummings, Cummings Veneer Products Inc., will take over as  president of the WPMA. Serving with Cummings on the 2018 executive committee are: Chris Moore, Taylor Lumber Co. Worldwide Inc., vice president; Terry Gross, Brown Wood Inc., treasurer; John Lentine, Boyce Highlands, assistant treasurer; and Pete Scheira, Fancher Chair Co., immediate past president.

Joining them on the board are members: Sandra Ann Bean, JM Champeau; Bob Chase, Quabbin Timber Inc.; Scott Ferland, Maine Woods Co. LLC; Doug Gilbert, Elipticon Wood Products Inc.; Michael McNulty Sr., Millwork One Inc.; Tom Murray, Rex Lumber Co.; Peter Puttmann, Atlas Dowel & Wood Products; Simon Varney, Wells Wood Turning & Finishing; and Arie Vink, Holland Bar Stool.

Founded in 1929 and based in Massachusetts, the WPMA serves the needs of North American wood components and dimension stock manufacturers with the tools they need to help their businesses grow. A clearing house for solving problems of mutual concern and assisting members in controlling costs, the WPMA says it also promotes healthy, profitable business environments and educational opportunities that assist members in developing skills for more competitive business operations.
