2024 Top Shelf Design Awards judges announced

NORTH LIBERTY, Iowa – Closets & Organized Storage magazine announced judges for its 2024 Top Shelf Design Awards. The contest, sponsored by Sauder Closets, honors designers for their creative closet and home organizational designs. 
 
The 2024 Top Shelf Design Awards judges are Laurie Haefele, Haefele Design; Tim Coleman, SCE Unlimited; and Kelly Victor-Burke, Burke Architectural Millwork and Bespoke Closets.

Laurie Haefele, Haefele Design, is a previous Top Shelf Design Awards judge and a previous keynote speaker at Closets Conference & Expo.

 

 

Tim Coleman is the division manager of the Chicago branch of SCE Unlimited, an Installed Building Products (IBP) division.
Burke Architectural Millwork
Kelly Victor-Burke is the co-founder/majority owner of Burke Architectural Millwork and Bespoke Closets.

Top Shelf Design Awards winners will be announced at a reception sponsored by Sauder Closets, on April 18 during Closets Conference & Expo at the Schaumburg Convention Center.

The Best of Show winner (project receiving the highest score from the judges) will receive a $500 prize, category winners will receive a $50 prize, and all recognized projects will receive an award plaque and/or a certificate and may be featured in Closets & Organized Storage magazine and its social media channels. 
 
Each Top Shelf Design Award entry is judged based on the following criteria: 50 percent appearance/design (emphasizing design creativity) and 50 percent functionality and quality of construction/materials. 
 
The contest deadline is January 29.

The annual Closets Conference & Expo (CCE) is the only national event for all closet and home storage professionals. The 2024 edition is co-located with Wood Pro Expo Illinois (WPE), a regional marketplace for woodworking professionals. The events are organized by Closets & Organized Storage and FDMC magazines respectively. Each is a distinct media brand of Woodworking Network. The twin-bill event is scheduled for April 17-19, 2024, at the Schaumburg Convention Center in Schaumburg, Ill.

CCE and WPE each kick off with a separate full-day conference on April 17, co-sponsored by the Association of Closet and Storage Professionals and Cabinet Makers Association respectively. The two-day co-located expo, April 18-19, features woodworking machinery, supplies, and components. Additional educational programming is offered on each day of the expo.
