Wood Pro Expo IL reception to celebrate #YoungWoodPro winner
YoungWoodPro 2024 Call for Entries

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. – Entries are being accepted throgh March 8 for the 2024 #YoungWoodPro competition organized by Woodworking Network and sponsored by Grizzly Industrial. This year’s winning project will be recognized at an April 18 reception following the first day of Wood Pro Expo Illinois co-located with the Closets Expo.

Since its inception, the Young Wood Pro award has recognized outstanding projects and the young wood professionals who crafted them. For example, the 2023 #YoungWoodPro award recipient, Rebecca DeGroot, created “Steep and Cauldron,” a pair of wood sculptures looking like tea pots that sprouted legs. DeGroot’s project consisted of two wooden turned vessels made with maple burl, maple, black dye, and satin finish.
