MANHEIM, Lancaster County, Pa. – Wood Pro Expo Lancaster (WPE) begins its two-day run Thursday, Oct. 14, with a packed exhibit floor and a full slate of educational opportunities.
Each day of the event kicks off with a free keynote presentation at 8 a.m. Verlon Miller, business advisor, of Gehman Accounting, will discuss how to make confident financial decisions to sustain and grow a business on Thursday. Friday’s free keynote by Will Sampson, editor of FDMC, will explore strategies and best practices for calculating more profitable prices.
The education component of WPE includes a pair of paid classroom sessions each day presented in partnership with the Cabinet Makers Association. Topics include how to successfully run a small woodworking shop, investing in machinery, understanding a profit and loss statement, and finishing trends. Read more about the sessions.
Education spills out on the show floor with the return of the popular Running Machine Program (RMP). Experts of four exhibiting companies will explain and answer questions on a variety of technology including nested-based CNC routing, edgebanding, CNC dovetailing, and more. Attendees are invited to attend any of the scheduled RMP sessions for free. Learn more.
New to this year’s show is the Classic Machine Pavilion. As the name suggests, the pavilion will showcase woodworking standards, including a straight-line ripsaw and pocket hole machine. Learn more.
