Leggett & Platt's sales down due to weak demand

Ongoing weak demand for Leggett & Platt's Bedding Products and Furniture, Flooring, & Textile Products segments drove sales down by 9 percent in both third quarter and year-to-date sales.

The declines were partially offset by continued demand strength in the company's Specialized Products segment, which includes automotive and aerospace parts.

Third-quarter sales in 2023 were $1.18 billion, which represents a 9% decrease as compared to third quarter of 2022. Year-to-date sales of $3. 6 billion were also down 9 percent compared to 2022 when the company had YTD sales of $3.9 billion.
