Cutting tool and grinding equipment manufacturer Colonial Saw will display its UT.MA P20 CNC at this year’s IWF at booth #6529. The P20 is the world’s first CNC profile grinder, says the company. Colonial Saw will also offer other moulder and insert knife demonstrations at its booth.

The P20 profile grinder is not only used for manufacturing and regrinding profile tools, but acts as a complimentary finishing machine for those who rough grind with a waterjet. Moulding and millwork manufacturers can use the P20 to grind custom knives in their original heads, while toolmakers can use it to mass produce HSS moulder knives, carbide inserts, brazed cutterheads, and router bits.

The P20 features a 12-HP grinding motor with variable speed control, and is more powerful than standard manual profile grinders, says the company. It can rough grinds from blank knife to finished profile directly from DXF or HPGL CAD drawings without templates.
