TROY, MI — Affinity Tool Works will acquire woodworking tool and accessory manufacturer HTC Products Inc. including its Portamate unit.

Affinity Tool Works says ownership of HTC and Portamate allows it to broaden its extensive line of tools and accessories targeted to specific markets such as building and construction, do-it-yourself, remodeling and woodworking.

Smoothing the transition is some history for the principals in the deal: Mike Ursell, president of Affinity Tool Works, spent 10 years as HTC’s director of sales and marketing.

HTC products include mobile bases and roller supports, and a full line of workshop accessories. Portamate products include the PM7000 Miter Saw Work Center, as well as tool and miter saw work stands, saw horses, tables, rollers and mobile bases. Affinity brands include BORA, FISH, Footprint, Lynx and Tormek.
