HIGH POINT, N.C.— The American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame Foundation's  Class of 2020 Induction Celebration will take place on June 6, during the Spring High Point Market.

The June 6 event will be held at the Sheraton Greensboro Four Seasons. The ceremony, traditionally held during the October High Point Market, was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We are moving our event along with the postponement of the April High Point Market to ensure that our 2020 Hall of Fame inductees will enjoy an evening worthy of the industry’s most prestigious honor,” said Caroline Hipple, president of the foundation board of directors. “In an industry that thrives on relationships, the goal of our board is to create a safe, healthy world-class event for the family, business associates, peers, and members of the industry.

“Coming on the heels of a paradoxical year, which unexpectedly created unprecedented demand for home furnishings, we want and even need to be encouraged by leaders who have met challenges like this pandemic with resilience and tenacity,” she added. “As we honor our amazing slate of inductees, they, in turn, will inspire us at what is the industry’s largest networking event – an evening of inspiration and cheer.”

Five industry leaders will be inducted into the American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame during the June 6 celebration. Joining the current 120 members of the Hall of Fame are: Irv Blumkin, CEO, Nebraska Furniture Mart; Robert G. Culp III, co-founder, former chairman and CEO, Culp, Inc.; Robert J. Maricich, chairman and CEO, International Market Centers; Allan H. Palecek, chairman and founder, Palecek; and Todd Wanek, CEO and president, Ashley Furniture Industries, Inc.
