WINCHESTER, VA – American Woodmark Corp., a supplier of cabinetry to the remodeling and new construction industries, announced that Kent Guichard, president and chief operating officer, will assume the role of CEO, effective August 23. Guichard will serve as the company’s third CEO in its 27-year history, and succeeds Jake Gosa, who will remain with the company as chairman of the board.

“Over the past few years, we have been preparing our senior management team for the transition of the company’s leadership,” said Gosa. “During Kent’s 14 years with the company, he has spent time working in key roles that have involved him in all of the company’s major functions. Since 2005, when he became chief operating officer, Kent has lead several key initiatives in manufacturing, product development, quality, and sales and marketing that have prepared the company for the next growth period.”
