AWFS Fair seeking proposals for 2019 education program

ANAHEIM, Calif. — The 2019 AWFS Fair show cycle is under way and the call for proposals for the show’s educational seminar program has officially begun.

Technical experts, exhibitors with an educational segment, business owners and managers, consultants and other wood products manufacturing professionals are invited to submit proposal ideas for seminars to be held at the AWFS Fair, July 17-20, 2019 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The deadline for proposal submittal is August 31, 2018.

Seminars are presented in time slots ranging from 90 minutes to all day training. The program includes classroom-style presentations, panels, demos and the SMART (Special Machinery and Relevant Technology) seminars for AWFS Fair exhibitors, the technical programs conducted on the show floor early in the morning before the show opens.

The CWWK will include the following educational tracks: Business Management, Cabinet/Millwork, Furniture, Small Shops Ten and Under, Software & Technology, Techniques & Applications, Safety & Environment, Workforce Development, and Teacher Track.

Attendee feedback identified the following topics of interest for the 2019 program: CNC; robotics; small shops management and operations; business growth and development; social media and marketing; dust collection; estimating; finishing; lean management and continuous improvement; training; employee attraction and retention.
