Cabinet Makers Assn. and Vance Publishing Form Strategic Alliance

LINCOLNSHIRE, IL – The Cabinet Makers Assn. and Vance Publishing Corp. have entered into an agreement to work closely together on a first-ever CMA special section and the 2008 National Cabinet Conference.

The CMA special section will be published in the November 2007 issue of Custom Woodworking Business. It will commemorate the association’s 10th anniversary, articulate the CMA’s mission and explain the many and varied benefits of joining the 600-plus member trade organization. CMA Associate Members will have the opportunity to support the CMA by advertising in the section, while at the same time reaching more than 50,000 CWB subscribers.

The CMA also agreed to be the major sponsor of the National Cabinet Conference & Woodworking Expo being organized by CWB and Wood & Wood Products. The three-day event is scheduled for March 18-20, 2008, at the Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel & Convention Center, the site of the highly successful 2007 Closets & Home Organization Conference & Expo™.

As the major sponsor, the CMA will play an integral role in developing the National Cabinet Conference education sessions. The association will also actively promote the event to its Regular and Associate Members.

“The CMA is excited to partner with Vance Publishing on these projects and believe it will benefit both organizations, as well as our members and CWB readers,” said Adam Rose, CMA president. “One of our most important member benefits is education, whether through trade show seminars or trade magazine articles. We see these two ventures as an opportunity for us to show the industry what we offer our members and look forward to a long relationship.”

“We are pleased and excited to be the first industry publication ever to work with the CMA on a special section,” Vance Group Publisher Laurel Didier said. “The CMA is a perfect fit for CWB because both the association and the magazine are dedicated to helping custom cabinetmakers and woodworkers strive for new heights of success.”

“This agreement is a long time coming,” added Rich Christianson, Associate Publisher of CWB and W&WP. “We worked with the CMA on several successful seminars at our Cabinet Conference in Dallas earlier this year. This agreement takes our relationship to the next level for the benefit of the CMA, our publications and events, and the industry at large.”

The CMA was incorporated in 1998. The CMA’s mission is “to uphold the highest level of professionalism in the industry by providing its members with networking opportunities, continuing education and ongoing professional development.”

Vance Publishing, a family-owned business, publishes more than 30 business-to-business magazines, including CWB, W&WP and CLOSETS.
