RESTON, VA — According to participating members in the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Assn. monthly Trend of Business Survey, cabinet sales for May 2008 decreased 18.9% compared to sales for May 2007.
Stock cabinet sales decreased 20.0%, semi-custom sales decreased 15.9% and custom sales decreased 26.5%.
The year-to-date sales show a decrease of 12.8%, with stock sales down 20.2%, semi-custom sales down 5.6% and custom sales down 11.5%.
Survey participants include stock, semi-custom and custom companies whose combined sales represent over 50% of the United States cabinet market. KCMA is a trade association for manufacturers of kitchen cabinets and bath vanities, and suppliers of goods and services to the industry.
