KANAWHA COUNTY, West Virginia — The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office said that Carlos Bonifaciomunoz, the driver of the lumber truck that on March 7 flipped his lumber truck, which landed on its top and slid 50 feet down a steep terrain, is still missing, he may be injured and might be wandering due to his injuries.
According to a Missing Person post, Bonifaciomunoz extricated himself from the wreckage and left the scene of the crash before first responders arrived.
According to the sheriff's department, Bonifaciomunoz contacted a family member in New Jersey who said that he was on Spencer Road in the community of Cotton.
Deputies have not been able to contact him and believe he is still in the Elkview Area in West Virginia. They add that he could be injured and may "not be aware of his whereabouts."
Sergeant Joshua Lester of the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office said that, as of 1 p.m., March 12, "we still consider him to be missing and have (received) no additional information pertaining to his whereabouts."
