BASSETT, Ca. - Two gunman escaped with over $5,000 in cash following a takeover robbery at a cabinetry business, authorities said.

The crime took place about 2:40 p.m. on July 1 at FX Cabinets Warehouse, 14242 Proctor Ave. in the unincorporated county area of Bassett, which is near Los Angeles.

Two robbers, both wearing ski masks and armed with handguns, fled following the robbery, said local police. Both wore masks and dark hooded sweatshirts.

Police say the gunmen stormed in, stole nearly $6,000, and then sped away in a green sedan. The car was later found abandoned just west of the crime scene.

No injuries were reported.
