TAMPA, Fla.- Masonite International Corp. has acquired wood door manufacturers Graham Manufacturing Corp. and The Maiman Co. from ASSA ABLOY, a Sweden-based global producer of access doors. Terms of the June 4 acquisition were not disclosed.

Based in Mason City, Iowa, Graham Mfg. produces architectural premium and custom grade flush wood doors for the non-residential market. Maiman, located in Springfield, Missouri, is a manufacturer of architectural stile and rail wood doors, thermal fused flush wood doors and wood door frames. Combined, the two companies have approximately 275 employees in three facilities, and posted 2017 net sales of $70 million.

“We believe this acquisition fits well with Masonite’s existing architectural business," said Graham Thayer, Masonite’s senior vice president, Architectural. "Graham and Maiman will provide Masonite with an expanded footprint to better serve our customers.”

“It was important to us that our customers, architects and end-users have continuity for products, service and support so these businesses are in good hands,” said Lucas Boselli, executive vice president of ASSA ABLOY and head of the Americas Division. “We will continue our focus on our steel door and frame leadership development in the market.”

Nico Delvaux, president and CEO of ASSA ABLOY, said, "I find it very satisfying that with Masonite, the Wood Door business and employees get a committed, experienced owner that gives the business a new home and creates opportunities for the future."

Masonite acquired the operating assets of the wood door companies from AADG Inc., part of ASSA ABLOY.

This marks Masonite’s ninth acquisition in the last four years. In January 2018, Masonite acquired DW3 Products Holding Ltd., a United Kingdom-based provider of doors and window systems sold under the Solidor, Residor, Nicedor, and Residence brands. Other acquisitions include: in 2017, Michigan-based A&F Wood Products, Inc., a wholesaler and fabricator of architectural and commercial wood doors, and Colorado-based fire-rated door producer FyreWerks Inc.; in 2015 New Jersey-based USA Wood Door, a wholesaler and fabricator of architectural and commercial wood doors, UK-based doorkit and millwork supplier National Hickman, UK-based custom door and millwork provider Performance Doorset Solutions Ltd., and Harring Door, an Ontario, Canada-based producer of architectural stile and rail doors; and in 2014 Door-Stop, considered the UK’s largest pre-hanger and distributor of composite exterior residential doors and door sets.

Founded in 1925 and headquartered in Tampa, Florida, Masonite International Corp. (NYSE: DOOR) is a global designer and manufacturer of interior and exterior doors for the residential new construction; the residential repair, renovation and remodeling; and the non-residential building construction markets.
