Mereen-Johnson appoints Tony Sutton to president role

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Mereen-Johnson, a leading Minneapolis-based manufacturer of woodworking machinery and automation systems, announced the promotion of Tony Sutton to president. Paul Wilmes will continue in his role as CEO, steering the company's strategic direction as it enhances its executive team to support its growing operations.

“Tony will focus on advancing our Mereen-Johnson and Diehl Machines product lines, specializing in standard and custom equipment,” stated Wilmes. “This strategic move enables me to concentrate more on the dynamic growth of our automation and robotics division, ensuring we remain at the forefront of technological advancements.”

Sutton brings experience and a proven track record from his nine-year tenure at Mereen-Johnson. His roles have spanned various leadership capacities, showcasing his versatility and commitment to the company's success:

  • Senior vice president: Oversaw all revenue streams and manufacturing processes.
  • Vice president, sales and marketing: Led market expansion and customer engagement strategies.
  • Vice president, manufacturing & administration: Managed operational efficiency and administrative functions.
  • Parts & service manager/marketing manager: Coordinated parts and service sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Special projects coordinator: Drove key projects to enhance operational capabilities.
