PELLA, Iowa -- Pella Corporation, a manufacturer and designer of custom windows and doors for homes and commercial buildings, purchased the high-end, modern and traditional window and door manufactuer Grabill last April. Pella is using the convergence of the two companies and their product lines to open a luxury, 7,000-square-foot showroom -- Pella Crafted Luxury -- in LuxeHome at Chicago’s Merchandise Mart.

The new permanent showroom will offer personalized design solutions to the architect and design communities.

“Our expanding capabilities, craftsmanship, and brand are now on display for designers and architects to engage within a stunning, inspirational setting,” said Annette Bravard, Pella’s vice president of sales and marketing. “It’s a place for us to provide a unique customer experience focused on solving design challenges in imaginative ways and celebrating individual style. Pella and the solutions we offer are evolving, and Pella Crafted Luxury is part of this change.”

Designed by Chicago-based residential architects Stuart Cohen and Julie Hacker, the Pella Crafted Luxury showroom is equal parts art gallery and retail space — created to inspire and inform and provide a personalized shopping experience for the most discerning homeowners, architects, designers and home builders, the company says.

“We were inspired by the idea of a gallery for displaying art — which in this case consists of windows and doors,” said Hacker. “The idea of windows providing views, both real and conceptual, into other places, served to drive the visual experience.”

The Pella Crafted Luxury showroom features six vignettes that allow guests to interact with the products, making it easy for them to imagine the windows and doors in their own home. Furnished and styled by popular Chicago interior designers such as Handman Associates, Stephanie Wohlner Design and Morgante Wilson, the vignettes spotlight historical, modern, traditional, urban loft and contemporary design.

“Pella and Grabill have many values in common, perhaps most importantly our commitment to product innovation and quality,” said Greg Grabill, founder and president of Grabill Windows & Doors. “We’re thrilled to bring those pillars and our product offering to this beautiful space and work with area architects and homeowners to create stunning homes.”
