I am in the midst of sorting the logistics for having a custom bed made. I want a rustic tree bed. That is: see pic - but with whole tree trunks (in natural state) for the four pillars, with a little spread at their base (and just big enough to properly support the bed - not massive)...and a few other (minor) customizations. My question is - given the aesthetic I want, but also seeking proper and lasting quality (considering all mitigating factors) - what type of wood(s) would be best to employ? Ranked, with contrasts explained, if multiple, please. Thanks!
