Valinge to demo Threespine click assembly at Closets Expo

Valinge Threespine furniture click technology

SCHAUMBURG, Illinois – Valinge Innovation will present its Threespine technology for toolless fast assembly of closets, cabinets and furniture at the Closets Expo, co-located with Wood Pro Expo Illinois. The twin-bill tradeshow, preceded by a full-day conference with plant tours, is scheduled for April 18-19 at the Schaumburg Convention Center.

Threespine click furniture technology was developed by the Swedish company Valinge Innovation. The company originally developed its click assembly technology for the flooring industry but saw opportunities to apply Threespine to furniture and cabinets as well. The integrated locking system allows furniture panels to be assemble by clicking the pieces together. No tools, screws of glue are required. Furniture using Threespine can also be disassembled.

Valinge says the click technology opens up new design possibilities, promotes reuse and recycling, and reduces handling, storage and transport costs. Another key advantage is that the technology allows the long-side panels to be seamlessly clicked together, making it possible to create panels that are half the size of a traditional full-length panel of over two meters. This leads to smaller packages facilitating both handling and transport significantly.

The Threespine portfolio includes two different solutions. Threespine Core, based on profiling and developed from Valinge’s 5G Fold Down technology, and Threespine ID, based on the furniture industry’s more traditional drilling methods. Each solution has its unique features and applications. Both are suitable for large- and small-scale production and can be applied to a wide range of furniture. Manufacturers throughout the world are licensing Valinge’s technology to product cabinets, furniture and other products.
