Barnett's current title is vice president of engineering, and the company is actively looking to fill his role.

"It is with mixed emotions that we announce the retirement of Dave Barnett, one of the founding figures of Barnett Manufacturing, now known as Choice Machinery Group. A remarkable journey that began 25 years ago when he started Barnett Design Works (BDW), setting a standard of innovation that would help define the path of our company.

"Barnett Design Works had humble beginnings, starting right in the basement of Dave Barnett's home. Despite the modest start, Dave's vision was grand: manufacturing custom machinery tailored for the secondary wood processing industry. This vision not only set the foundation for BDW but also helped shape what Choice Machinery Group is today.

"Over these past 25 years, while the name and scope might have evolved, the core values of dedication to quality, commitment to innovation, and unmatched customer satisfaction remain unwavering.

"As Dave steps into retirement, we honor his legacy, which continues to be a beacon guiding us forward. His contributions have been invaluable, and his vision will forever be a part of our company’s fabric.

"We wish Dave all the best in his well-deserved retirement and express our deepest gratitude for his years of service, leadership, and inspiration."
