WOODRIDGE, Ill. — Orbus Visual Communications is planning to open a new manufacturing facility in Huntersville, North Carolina, to house its SEG Systems and Fabric Images brands. The relocation and expansion are a $25 million investment and will create 100 new jobs, in addition to the 86 jobs moving from Charlotte.

Orbus said it is North America’s largest producer of visual communications solutions for tradeshows and events, retail environments, and workplace interiors.

The new facility is approximately 225,000 sq. ft. and will incorporate SEG Systems’ and Fabric Images’ entire production capabilities: printing, metal fabrication, fabric architecture manufacturing, woodworking, acoustical felt production, powder coating, and lighting. The brand-new facility is 50% larger than the previous space. The expansion will unlock new opportunities for enhanced productivity and innovation, the company said.

“As a Huntersville native, it is beyond exciting to bring SEG Systems to Huntersville,” said Dori Tilson, president of SEG Systems. “The location is perfect for our existing employee base, logistics needs, and for attracting new employees.”

“Fabric Images’ move to North Carolina is a significant expansion of space for fabric architecture and acoustic production,” said Marco Alvarez, vice president of Fabric Images. “Large-scale projects require extensive square footage, and this investment supports our needs very well.”

“I am proud of Orbus Visual Communications and our success, marked by this relocation and expansion to a new cutting-edge facility,” said Gary Keefer, CEO of Orbus Visual Communications. “This relocation and expansion propels us forward and reinforces our commitment to excellence in the retail and interiors markets.”
