Fire-Damaged Plywood Mill Undergoes Reconstruction

COULEE DAM, OR --
Colville Indian Plywood’s operations will remain shut for about six months while the company rebuilds portions that were destroyed by a June 29 fire. Indian Country Today reported that the fire caused more than $8 million in damage to the log processing department. Approximately 150 were laid off after the fire. The company is actively seeking donations of food, cash and other relief for its out-of-work employees. Read more.
