Leggett & Platt announces leadership transitions

CARTHAGE, Mo. – Leggett & Platt appointed Sam Smith to senior vice president and president of its furniture, flooring and textile segment effective April 2. In addition, Ryan Kleiboecker was promoted to executive vice president and chief strategic planning office effective Feb. 26.

Smith's and Kleiboecker's announcements coincide with the impending retirement of Steve Henderson. Henderson will step down from his positions as executive vice president and president of the specialized products and furniture, flooring and textile products segments effective April 1. Mitch Dolloff, president and CEO of Leggett, will oversee specialized products on an interim basis.

Smith joined Leggett in 2014 and has held several operational roles of increasing responsibility within our Home Furniture group. In 2020, he was promoted to president of Home Furniture. Kleiboeker joined the company in 2005 and spent 11 years in corporate development, evaluating and executing acquisition and divestiture transactions and supporting strategic planning activities. In 2016, he began working with the Specialized Products and Furniture, Flooring and Textile Products segments on a variety of financial, strategic, and operational initiatives. 

Leggett & Platt is a diversified manufacturer that designs and produces a broad variety of engineered components and products that can be found in many homes and automobiles. The 141-year-old company is a supplier of bedding components and private label finished goods; automotive seat comfort and convenience systems; home and work furniture components; geo components; flooring underlayment; hydraulic cylinders for material handling and heavy construction applications; and aerospace tubing and fabricated assemblies.
