VIDEO: Closet Factory increases throughput 300% with new edgebander

By incorporating a new edgebander from Stiles Machinery, the Closet Factory DFW was able to cut production times from 45 minutes per job to 15 minutes.

The company installed the Homag EDGETEQ 6.6 Series edgebander, Closet Factory DFW was able to increase their throughput by 300%. Doing so has allowed them to keep up with their increased demand for custom closets and home organizational systems, said John Alexander, Vice President of the Closet Factory, in a Youtube video.

"We never intended to grow this quickly, honestly, like when we opened our doors, it was a flood of business," Alexander said. "And that's a great problem to have. But also it's a problem. So you have to overcome that by increasing your growth in a quicker timeframe."

He said when the company began looking for ways to increase productivity they went to Stiles Machinery for advice. "When our new edgebander got dropped off, I think we were all smiles we saw pull up in the parking lot and it was massive. It dwarfed our old machinery and we were just blown away by this sheer size of it. It was amazing how quick and fast that machine really was."
