Comdust blamed for Woodworks furniture fire

Wood dust is being blamed for an explosion that rocked Woodworks, a custom furniture maker based in Abbotsford, British Columbia. No injuries were reported as a result of Monday's blaze which temporarily shut down the 50,000-square-foot manufacturing facility.

Canfor opens U.S. lumber headquarters in Alabama

Canfor Southern Pine, the U.S. lumber operation of Canada's Canfor Corp., will open a U.S. headquarters in Mobile, Alabama. Canfor Southern Pine encompasses 14 manufacturing facilities, wproducing 1.4 billion board feet of southern yellow pine lumber as well as engineered wood products.

Tafisa adds capacity with 5th TFL panel line

Tafisa Canada started up of its fifth TFL panel press line for producing two-sided embossed and in-register textured composite panels in 4-foot by 8-foot and 5-foot by 9-foot sizes. The line will aid the production and on-time delivery of its new VIVA panels, whic feature embossed in-register textured surfaces.
