Glamour Haven: The Ultimate Luxury Closet Experience

Project Description:
Glamour Haven is a bespoke closet experience that transcends the ordinary, offering a sanctuary of refined beauty and exquisite styling. This meticulously designed space is a symphony of opulence, featuring custom-built storage solutions adorned with crystal accents, beveled wall mount mirrors in the vanity feature, luxury lighting details, Quartz Stone Countertops, custom jewelry storage, and so much more. This closet is in a new-construction luxury townhome designed for a wife and husband. They had a specific amount of items that needed to be stored and displayed. Since their belongings were not accessible to inventory, I worked very closely with them to ensure no detail was missed and all items had a home. I measured this space when it was in the framing stage, and factored in the drywall thickness, flooring, and obstructions to my measurements.

Since it is a townhome and has a sprinkler system, I had to work around the sprinklers strategically, so I got creative with the heights of the cabinets. All cabinets are floor-mounted with base moulding. The cabinets that touch the ceiling have a 2-piece crown application. All solid doors have a Raised Panel profile, and the drawers have a Molded profile. The glass doors are framed with raised panel glass, which shares the same perimeter as the other two profiles for a harmonious union.  When you embark upon this closet, you are greeted by a glass door that reads "Wardrobe."

Starting at the left as you enter, she has an impressive shoe collection she wanted displayed like a boutique retailer. I used 3500k LED 24V dimmable lighting embedded in silicone and recessed into our thermally fused laminate boards. This is the same lighting featured throughout the closet. I placed the lighting in the back of the boards to provide a beautiful and elegant glow to allow her shoes to take center stage. Her curated shoe collection is displayed on our textured glass shelving, adjustable for variable shoe heights.  Along the left wall is her clothing storage including long and short hang featuring 3500k recessed LED lighting above. This lighting is housed in a decorative top that sits on the system and overhangs 3.5 inches. There is also an elite valet rod in her long hang section.

In between the clothing sections, there is a bank of drawers and a glass purse/shoe display cabinet above. This cabinet also has the 3500k LED lighting in the back of the cabinet to highlight her display items.  In the left corner, I included a deeper cabinet to store out-of-season items and belongings she did not want to display.  Under the left-two windows, there are built in storage benches. Between the benches and left two windows, there is another bank of drawers and a glass display cabinet above with 3500k 24V dimmable LED lighting in the back of the cabinet to highlight her designer bag collection. This cabinet sits 3 inches from the benches to allow for clean trim seams.  To the right of the bench, there is a cabinet with drawers below and a pull-out Jewelry Flute anchoring the right of this cabinet run.

The pull-out flute displays three concealed velvet jewelry trays from the Jewelry Tray Factory.  At the far right end of the closet, there is a custom-designed vanity area with luxurious details, including a HanStone Tranquility Quartz top, 3500K recessed LED, makeup & perfume storage compartments, and beveled wall mount mirrors.  To the right of the vanity area is the male user's section, with a short hang, an elite valet rod, and slanted shoe shelving. The fronts of the slanted shoe shelves are adorned with elite chrome shoe fences. This section also has the overhead recessed LED lighting.

Back to the entrance area of the closet, there is a cabinet tucked behind the door with a hamper and closed storage shelving above (with recessed LED).  The anchoring element of the closet is the gorgeous island featuring (4) banks of 24-inch wide drawers, HanStone Tranquility Quartz top, and decorative end panels. On her side, there are four custom velvet jewelry trays from the Jewelry Tray Factory. On his side, he has a custom velvet watch & belt tray, as well as a velvet valet tray, both from the Jewelry Tray Factory. To maintain industry standards for the island thoroughfare, I had the clothing rods mounted back 2 inches on the left wall.

Project Construction:
This closet is in a new construction luxury townhome. I measured this space in the framing stage and factored in the drywall thickness, flooring, and obstructions to my measurements. I worked with the builder to advise on the electrical needs of our wireless LED system, providing them with the exact locations of receptacles. Since it is a townhome and has a sprinkler system, I had to work around the sprinklers strategically, so I got creative with the heights of the cabinets. This closet was installed for four days. Stone and glass partners came in after the cabinets were installed to install the stone tops and wall-mounted beveled mirrors.

Materials Used:
Thermally fused laminate that is 3/4 inchdes thick with 2mm edgebanding (both vertical boards and shelving have 2mm edgeband), Thermo foil MDF doors & drawer fronts, glass shoe shelves, molded detail vinyl wrapped base moulding (toe kick also included behind base for added strength), 2-piece vinyl wrapped crown moulding with traditional style crown on top & corresponding molded profile sub crown, scribe trim, 3500k LED 24V dimmable lighting embedded in silicone, Richelieu Crystal Chrome pulls (2 sizes: 128mm and 96mm) and 30mm matching style Crystal Chrome knobs, HanStone Tranquility Quartz tops, elite polished chrome round rods, cabinet glass for glass framed doors, beveled wall mount mirrors, (2) elite Valet rods, double hooks (decorative hook board), Richilieu soft sided hamper, Jewelry Tray factory jewelry trays (4), and Jewelry Tray Factory valet tray & watch/belt tray, Pullout flute with decorative rosette detail, (3) velvet necklace holders from the Jewelry Tray Factory, decorative Thermo Foil MDF end panels on the island, maple wrapped drawer boxes, soft close full extension drawer glides and soft close half overlay door hinges.

Equipment Used:
For the field measurement, I used a Bosch laser measure and a hand-held tape measure, recorded on graph paper with a pencil. I used a CAD design software tool for the design and elevations. We have 2D and 3D software to render images and 3D visuals for the client.
